Burns & Wilcox Expands Capabilities, Launches Adult and Child Care Services Product Line

Powered By

Burns & Wilcox, an independent and globally recognised leader in insurance underwriting, today announced the launch of a new healthcare product line within its Professional Liability Practice: Adult and Child Care Services.

The new product is available to insurance brokers for their clients and is set to offer a comprehensive package to care organisations within England, Scotland, and Wales. The package includes the full gamut of coverage capabilities including public liability, employers’ liability, medical malpractice, and property damage.

This announcement follows the recent addition of two new hires, Melissa Kalsi and Jade Knight. Kalsi and Knight bring a wealth of insurance industry experience to Burns & Wilcox, specifically within the healthcare space.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to bring this leading product to market, especially as market appetite and capacity for underwriting Adult and Child Care Services has been drastically decreased in recent years and has been impacted by significant losses,” said Jade Knight, Head of Adult and Child Care Services, Burns & Wilcox. “We want our brokers to spend time understanding their organisations’ profile in depth, to ensure our quotes and cover are personalised to their specific needs and can support their operations long-term.”

“This is an exciting step for us as a business as we launch our fifth product line, continuing to deepen our bench expertise. I am looking forward to seeing our team’s innovation will support such an important sector now and in the years to come,” said Stuart Kilpatrick, Managing Director, Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom. “We are especially excited to have both Jade and Melissa join us, given their reputations in building successful healthcare programs from the ground up,” he continued.

This move comes as part of the company’s continued expansion in the UK which has seen more than a 50 percent increase in the team’s size in the past year. Burns & Wilcox aims to be the right partner now, combining experience and knowledge to provide support and capacity for the long-term, on an exclusive basis.
