Notice

UPDATE WITH EFFECT FROM 4th JUNE 2024:

On the 4th June 2024, BT announced a partnership with AddSecure to take over the monitoring of existing Redcare systems, meaning that BT Redcare Alarm systems will no longer need to be replaced and services will continue without interruption. Further information is available directly from AddSecure.

Withdrawal of BT Redcare Signalling Effective 1st August 2025

BT Redcare have provided alarm signalling products for many years, so that when an alarm is triggered, a receiving centre or keyholders are notified.

However BT have recently announced that all BT Redcare operations will close on 1st August 2025, or earlier for customers whose contracts are due to expire before that date. This is due to the old analogue network being no longer compatible with digital fibre that is being installed across the UK.

What you need to do if you have a Redcare alarm

If your alarm systems will be affected by this or you are unsure as to whether your system is Redcare, please contact your regulated alarm company who will be able to get you the right information about your system and potential alternatives.

In respect of your insurance, cover is likely to have been provided on the basis of the alarm that is in place, so please speak to your insurance broker and provide them with details of any changes to your alarm system. Alarm signalling products with dual path Alarm Transmission System with performance level DP3 certificated to BSEN50136-1:2012 will generally be acceptable to Burns & Wilcox, where Redcare was formerly provided.
