Celebrate Growth and Innovation at BIBA

Powered By

Up to a dozen of my Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom colleagues will join me at the BIBA Conference 11-12 May in Manchester. While virtual visits have been plentiful, mixed with the occasional face-to-face interaction, BIBA signifies an opportunity to finally come together, reunite, and strengthen our relationships.

It has been an interesting two-plus years since our team joined the H.W. Kaufman Group network of companies to form Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom. During that time, we have continued to provide innovative products for the market while growing our team and influence around the country. Our gross written premium rose in excess of 25 percent versus the prior year, and we have no plans of slowing down our strategic expansions—through both organic growth and acquisitions where appropriate.

As we prepare for BIBA, I wanted to provide you additional updates on how we continue to work for you.

Innovation is never finished

Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom launched their Terrorism product in 2020. As we have learned more about the needs of our broker partners in the ensuing months, we are repositioning this product to provide more coverage and capacity.

Our team has also refined our Property, Casualty and Professional lines offerings, with an added emphasis on the hospitality, leisure, and real estate markets. Additional solutions are available to support warehousing and distribution risks.

In recent months we have secured a multi-year capacity arrangement that will cover a wide array of needs in sectors that previously have been constrained. Even as inflation heats up, we have a level of capacity that will remain in place for our clients, providing you with an added sense of trust, security and reliability.

Our growth benefits all partners

What truly sets the Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom team apart from others in the market is our people. Our dedicated team of professionals has grown by 50 percent over the past two years, and in 2022 we added a full-service office in Birmingham to join our existing locations in Manchester and London. Subject matter experts lead thriving Professional, Property, and standalone Casualty teams at all three locations, and we handle many types of packages.

New employees will continue to be added to our team throughout 2022. In addition to organic hires, Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom is partnering with three professionals on the P&C side of our sister company, Cranbrook Underwriting, bringing an added focus on online/e-trading and related services.

This team utilizes a refined distribution model that supports the needs of partner brokers, which allows us to often find common ground even for challenging scenarios. You may be surprised to find that there could be blocks of business with scale that we can find a solution for.

BIBA will be an opportunity for us to share our vision and hear more about your needs

If you plan to attend BIBA there is no need to pre-register to meet with us. However, feel free to reach out to your Burns & Wilcox contact or contact us directly to let us know you will be onsite.

You may see updates from our Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom group on social media, so please be sure to follow us on LinkedIn.

If you are not attending BIBA, we would still love to set up a meeting to discuss your clients’ needs and map out a strategy that benefits all parties.

Thank you for your time and continued partnership. Please reach out to me directly with any questions.

Sincerely,

Stuart Kilpatrick
